Michael is a native of Maine, having grown up in Presque Isle. At a very early age Michael discovered he had a talent for art and for drawing in particular. He pursed and polished his talent by studying architectural design at Northern Maine Technical College. His career in construction began with a local post & beam company. He further honed his craft working for an architectural firm and then by working as freelance designer for another well known Maine construction company. Set on making his mark in the architectural design field, Michael founded Breakwater Design & Build in 1999. His experience in post & beam design and construction, renovations, restorations, along with his desire to continually educate himself on new construction techniques has allowed him to sustain and grow the business. His creative vision and ability to interpret complex designs and implement them during the construction process helps him to ensure each design is completed to the client’s desired vision.

Ginny is also a native of Maine, having grown up in Lincoln. Prior to working in the construction field, Ginny worked in the medical field in Maine and Virginia. She started her career change with Breakwater Design & Build and has now been in the Construction Industry for more than 10 years. During that time she has expanded her knowledge of the practices and ins and outs of the industry and continuously makes her education and training a top priority. Ginny is also very active in her community as a Board Member of the Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce, as former Vice President of the Maine Contractors and Builders Alliance and at Habitat for Humanity where she sits on the Woman Build Committee. Out in the field or in the office Ginny manages the staff, the projects and is vital to keeping all operations running smoothly.
